Happy New Years Eve everybody!
Today I am going to be writing my last post of 2014, and for that reason I thought I should dedicate it to my favourite things from the past month/season. This is going to include some bits about fashion, beauty, hair, and lifestyle. Enjoy!
Today I am going to be writing my last post of 2014, and for that reason I thought I should dedicate it to my favourite things from the past month/season. This is going to include some bits about fashion, beauty, hair, and lifestyle. Enjoy!
So lets start with fashion. From my last post you can see the kind of clothes I like to wear in winter; the layered look as I like to call it. This month I have spent most of my time in college, so the frosty walks there and back mean I like to stay wrapped up! I have been loving my Christmas jumpers this year, I got them out in like November (which was probably a bit early but whatever), and wear them with my green fur lined parka, and some trusty black leather leggings or denim skinny jeans. My choice of shoes would probably be my Nike SB Janoski's or some Converse. Of a weekend, when I am going out with friends maybe for food or shopping, I like to dress up a bit considering I don't really get a chance to in college. So I will wear a shirt under a jumper to smarten the look up a bit, and trade in my trainers for my best loved black boots. Also, this year Matalan teamed up with Alder Hey Children's Hospital, and designed what were known as 'Alphabet Scarves'. Each scarf available to buy had a different letter on, and was a different colour. They were sold at £10 each, and £4 of the money went to Alder Hey, who are a fantastic hospital who are in need of money. I bought one of these scarves with my name on which was coincidentally, peach! I couldn't believe it. I have been wearing that a lot under my coat to keep me warm wherever I go. Check them out, it would be great if you could donate too - http://www.matalan.co.uk/alphabetscarves/buyascarf
Anyway, I thought I would share a couple of my favourite winter jumpers.
Anyway, I thought I would share a couple of my favourite winter jumpers.
I got this from BooHoo.com a couple of years ago now, and I love it. I think it's so cool. It it super comfy and cosy and in my opinion really cute.
Cheesy, 80s, and somewhat ugly, I know. But sometimes I think the more horrendous the jumper, the better! Jumpers like these remind me of Christmas family films from the 80s and 90s, such as Home Alone and National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, where the family are all seen sporting awful jumpers at one point or another. I found this in a charity shop for about £8. It is such a gorgeous wooly jumper and really thick. On colder days I wear a denim shirt under this. The quality is gorgeous, and that is something that is common of old clothes; better quality. The thing I adore about this jumper is the fact that someone probably hand knitted this when it was made years ago, and it is still in perfect condition. Vintage clothes are so much more interesting than the clothes on the high street today!
Next, beauty. Like I said, I spent about 80% of this past month in college, and I tend to stay away from spending too much time doing my make-up, because that way it feels better to make an effort when you go out of a weekend (and partly because I would rather spend the extra time in bed). But when I do, this Winter I have been sticking to minimal blush, because I think they are more of a Summer thing, unless you use plum toned blushers. So I have been sticking to a bronzed cheekbone, with plenty of mascara to darken and lengthen my lashes, and draw attention to the eyes, and of course a Winter berry lip.
Hair. I don't really ever do much with my hair, no matter what the season, because it is already wavy and I like it that way, so I tend to just emphasise the waves with some surf spray. I have been wearing it down a lot lately, really big and messy, using my Bed Head spray, which you can read more about here. If I have it up, it is usually scruffy and loose, with little pieces hanging out here and there.
And finally, what I have been up to! This month has been pretty hectic, but where I can, I have been enjoying chilled nights at home with my family and friends, curled up with hot chocolate and cosy pyjamas. I have did plenty of Christmas shopping, and even more present wrapping. I even enjoyed the atmosphere in college before we finished for the Christmas holidays. My teachers got really involved with the Christmassy spirit and wore their Christmas jumpers and played songs in class, and dancing in the Christmas show was fun too! And of course, Christmas Day itself! I had a wonderful day spent with my family, with lots of food, drinks and love. I hope you did too.
Tonight, I am going into Liverpool city centre to take some photos and get some coffee with my friends from Avery Adventures and PictureItInsideOut (my blog friends!), and a couple of others too. I will make sure I post about that soon, but for now, I hope you have all had the most magical Christmas you could wish for, and that your 2015 is filled with luck and hope! And remember, leave the bad things in 2014, and carry the good with you into the next one.
Big Love. xo
