Being so much of a beauty junkie, I have tried a whole bunch of face washes, exfoliators, cleansers, you know, all those things. I usually go for names branded as being 'good', things like Garnier or Neutrogena! I have never had 'bad' skin as such, but I can't remember the last time it was fully clear, there is always at least one spot.. Super annoying.
About a month ago now, I was food shopping with my mum in Asda, but I can never resist having a gaze in the beauty aisles! Despite the fact I really didn't 'need' any lipstick, or face wipes, or moisturiser, I genuinely had used up the last of my face wash! I was about to go back to my Garnier one I had been using for a few months, but I seen a range I had never came across before, called Skin System. The products were made by Asda, and the prices were remarkably cheap, I think everything was about £1!
I have developed a habit of checking the ingredients on products because if the ingredients in supermarket products are similar to those of branded ones, what's the difference? Half the time, you are paying for the name. So I checked the ingredients in the Skin System stuff, and they contained salicylic acid; something I have found works really well on my skin. It is present in the Garnier face wash I had been using, and my Dermalogica spray. For this reason, I thought, you can't go wrong for a pound! It's an experiment in a way.
I picked up the Mattifying Moisturiser, Exfoliating Face Wash and the Spot Gel. All three impressed me, with pretty much instant results! The gel is a great emergency spot fix, I have found it to be really useful the day before a party or special event, when a huge spot decides to just plant itself on your face! The face wash is lovely for giving your face a good scrub and is nice of a morning to wake you up! The moisturiser impressed me most of all though, as I have super greasy skin! I had tried a similar product by Dermalogica and I loved it, but there genuinely wasn't much difference between the two, other than the price. I applied it before makeup and it left my face looking so matte. I would of felt confident enough to go without makeup! This, in partnership with a matte powder, makes for a really matte finish!
For me, these products impressed me so much, I will definitely be buying them again! Why don't you pick some up? Thanks for reading! xo
