In this post I am going to explain what I used to get the makeup look I wore at the weekend when I went to Death Row Diner (read more here). I am by no means a makeup artist or anything like that, but I just wanted to share my makeup look for a bit of a different kind of post!
Here we have the 5 essentials that were used to create the look;
Benefit Hoola Bronzer
Soap&Glory Thick&Fast Mascara
Rimmel Kate Lipstick 28
Barry M Eyeshadow Pencils in the shades Bronze and Brown Black
Benefit Hoola Bronzer
Soap&Glory Thick&Fast Mascara
Rimmel Kate Lipstick 28
Barry M Eyeshadow Pencils in the shades Bronze and Brown Black
For the base I used my Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation (shade 53) mixed with Loreal True Match (shade Golden Beige). I set this with my Mac Select Sheer Pressed Powder (shade NW30). Over my t-zone I lightly dusted some of my Maybelline Matte Maker (shade 10 Classic Ivory). On my cheekbones and around my hairline I added some Benefit Hoola bronzer, topped with a tiny amount of Soap&Glory Peach Party blush. For my brows, I used my e.l.f eyebrow kit and the Benefit Gimme Brow (shade light/medium). For my eyes, I used the Barry M eyeshadow crayons together to give a bronzed/grungy eye (shades Bronze and Brown Black), and then for mascara I firstly used my Benefit They're Real mascara and then Soap&Glory Thick&Fast coated over the top. I also used a tiny amount of Loreal eyeliner to define the lash line. Finally on my lips, I used Rimmel Kate (shade 28) lined with a dark pink Rimmel lip pencil.
When I am wearing a vibrant shirt, I usually like to keep my makeup quite plain. However on this day, I was feeling particularly 80s, so decided to add a vibrant lip AND eye makeup too! Also, if I am wearing pink lipstick I tend to not wear pink blusher too, to avoid looking too 'dolled up'. For this reason I stuck to my Peach Party blush from Soap&Glory because it isn't really bright pink, it is more of a highlighter, so I added it slightly above my bronzer. For the eyes, I used the Brown Black pencil across the entire lid, with more in the inner corner, and topped this with the Bronze pencil, only in the inner corner to open up the eye. I blended the Brown Black pencil along the outer corner of the waterline and in the inner corner of the waterline, I added a small amount of the Bronze. For the eyes, after drawing a tiny amount of eyeliner along the lash line, I applied about two coats of my Benefit mascara to add some length, and about three coats of the Soap&Glory one for the volume. For eyebrows, I used the e.l.f gel from the eyebrow kit to define the shape of my brows, using more on the tail than the top end. I lightly brushed some of the Benefit Gimme Brow at the top, to give the gradual brow effect. On my lips, I lined with my pink lip liner, and applied more in the corners for an ombre look.
